The presence of emphysema affects the prognostic ...

Reported that the presence of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease and emphysema associated with an increased risk of lung cancer, but the weather in these two conditions is not known. The aim of our study was to analyze the impact of COPD and emphysema in nedribnoklitynnoho prognosis of lung cancer (NSCLC). Three hundred and fifty three patients diagnosed with NSCLC cytohistologic were collected prospectively. The relationship between survival at two years and the following variables: age, sex, smoking related diseases (cardiovascular diseases, tumors and previous COPD), weight loss, presence of emphysema on CT, the general condition (PS) and treatment was analyzed. Kaplan-Meyer and log-rank criteria were used to analyze survival. Multivariate Cox model of proportional risks broken down by stage TNM, has been used to evaluate prognostic factors. Emphysema is present in 110 patients associated with COPD in 78 (70. 9%). In one-dimensional analysis, survival decreased with age70 years (p = 0. 01), the presence of emphysema (p lasix heart rate = 0. 02), weight loss (p = 0. 00001), PSB ‰ G2 (p = 0. 00,001), and symptomatic treatment (p = 0. 0001). Multivariate analysis identified emphysema (HR = 1 49 (95% CI 2.11 1 01) ...), PSB ‰ G2 (HR = February 12 (95% CI 3.31 1 38) ...) and treatment: surgery (HR = 0. 3 (95% CI 0. 15-0. 56)) and chemotherapy (HR = 0. 34 (95% CI 0. 31-0. 57)) as independent prognostic factors. The presence of emphysema affects the prognostic results in patients with lung cancer nedribnoklitynnyy. Emphysema should be considered forward-looking research related diseases.
